Black Pearl Epicure
Re-discover the sensations of taste

Black Pearl Epicure is a premium food institute in Queensland comprising of the wholesale distribution business, showroom and cooking school all located in adjoining warehouses in the Fortitude Valley district in Brisbane.

Babak Hadi founded Black Pearl Caviar in 1990. Within two years the company became Australia's largest importer of caviar and saffron. With the government ban on the importation of caviar, a name change and change in focus for the company was required. Now trading as Black Pearl Epicure, Babak secured an arrangement with Simon Johnson Purveyor of Quality Foods as his Queensland distributor, and is one of the leading gourmet distributors in the country specialising in high quality Australian produce and imported delicacies such as truffles, foie gras, chocolate, oils and vinegars. Now the ban has been lifted, Babak is back to selling his much loved caviar.

Babak has taught many food classes, including the Melbourne and Brisbane Master classes, and is considered Australia's caviar and saffron expert.

Black Pearl Epicure expanded in 1997 to open a show room and cooking school where Babak gives product information seminars. It is a centre of learning where Australia's leading chefs and food educators share their knowledge. Babak strongly believes young chefs and apprentices must be taught the use of good products in combination with technical skills and he regularly teaches such educational classes at Black Pearl.
