Christmas Order Forms

It’s hard to believe but it’s true! Christmas time is creeping up on us again and as always, we have a beautiful selection of products to offer. Our Almond Grove free-range turkeys from South Australia have to be tasted to be believed. Our gourmet ham selection this year includes a ‘Suckling Pig Leg Ham on Bone’ or the ‘Korabuta Berkshire Honey Smoked Ezy Carve Ham’ (with knuckle on).

 

Those in the know will agree there’s nothing better than a Barossa chook when it comes to roasting chicken. The succulent, full flavoured meat always brings joy to any gathering. For a special treat, our Tetsuya’s Smoked Ocean Trout is a true delicacy and will be the star of any dinner table. It’s available in whole 1kg sides and smaller packs.

News at Black Pearl

There have been some exciting changes at Black Pearl since our last newsletter. We have some great new uniforms and have many fabulous new products on the shelves. You’ll notice a greater selection of Simon Johnson branded products, a new extensive Maggie Beer section and more specialty Christmas products than ever before including some beautiful new gift hampers! You might notice some new face around the place here too…

Cheese Tasting Day 

Join us for a day of cheese indulgence and sample many of Black Pearl’s finest fromage! You’ll find a table filled with some of our very new cheeses alongside some old favourites as well.

It’s the perfect opportunity to try many cheeses you’ve never tasted before and find some new favourites.

This year we’ll have an extensive range of gift hampers filled to the brim with only the very best ingredients available. Simon Johnson is well known for their beautifully packaged, high quality hampers so we’re very excited to be offering the entire range in store at Black Pearl this year.

Maggie Beer Christmas Range

Next time you’re at Black Pearl, be sure to have a look at our new Maggie Beer section at the back of the store. It’s like a mini Maggie Beer shop back there. Especially for Christmas, Maggie has released a brand new Apricot Fruit Paste which is also included in this limited edition Fruit Paste Collection. Also just in - A small batch of Maggie's perfectly extravagant Christmas puds! These guys sell out well before Christmas too so you’ll need to be quick.

There are times when food choices can be overwhelming, so we say have them all! The complete paste collection includes Quince Paste, Plum Paste, Cabernet Paste, Fig and Fennel Paste, Spiced Pear Paste and the new apricot paste.

 

Serving Suggestion:
As with all of Maggie's pastes, it's not just about cheese matching. Try melting paste into some good stock and using over a steak or for a sweet treat, cube paste and roll in cinnamon sugar to serve with coffee. 

 


 

Maggie Beer Christmas Pudding
This pudding is full of Christmas cheer and everything that is good in the Barossa. A liberal dose of port and an extravagant amount of fruit make a luscious pudding with natural sweetness and true fruit flavour.

 

Serving Suggestion:
Serve with brandy butter, homemade custard or Maggie's Vanilla Bean and Elderflower ice cream.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Simon Johnson Panettone

The best you'll ever try! We look  forward to their arrival each year, opening up the first box and smelling its spicy sweet aroma. These sell out well before Christmas each year so it's best to get in quick.

 

Rich with dried fruits and spices it has a high butter content and a light, melt in your mouth quality. The fantastic aroma and delicate flavour are due to a mother yeast which has been renewed every day for over 70 years.

 

Delicious as is with a glass of prosecco, or slice and serve with a bowl of mascarpone or vanilla bean ice cream and fresh berries.

 

 

 

 

Mariage Frères Tea - Esprit de Noël

A festive tea blended especially for the occasion. Flavoured with mild Christmas spices, it includes pieces of orange zest and vanilla. Black classical sealed canister containing 100g of tea and presented in a gift box.
 

 

 

 

 

Cooking School Latest

Our latest cooking school program should be with you all by now. If you haven’t received your copy in the mail, please email cooking.school@blackpearl.com.au to request a copy. You’ll find it jam packed with exciting new classes, all of which are selling quickly already.

 

November is filled with classes on Knife Skills, The Flavours of Spain, Sausage Making, BBQ, Persian Shish Kebabs, Mexican, Champagne & Caviar, Cheesemaking & Christmas Cake Decorating for Beginners.

 

December there’ll be Funky Christmas Cupcakes, Stunning Spirit House Stir Fries, Gingerbread House, Vietnamese Street Food, Persian Feast and Blue Cheesemaking.
